The court determines how the parties and attorneys associated with a case are specified in TrueFiling. If the court you're filing in uses party management, see Add a Case Party or Counsel for details on that process.
You can add yourself or a connection as a case contact, and if the court permits, you can also add other counsel. Once added to a case, a contact can subsequently be selected to be served a case filing document.
You'll add a contact through the Case Details page.
Further, when a registered TrueFiling user is added as a service recipient to a case filing, they will be added as a case contact. See Serve Case Contacts for details.
A court can be configured to classify case contacts as either Verified or Standard. A contact’s classification determines if and how they can see other case contacts throughout TrueFiling, as well as if they are visible to other contacts and can be selected for servicing. A court may also classify case contacts but place no restrictions on the information displayed.
A court may not be configured to classify contacts. In these courts, a case contact is visible to all, and any contact can be selected for service.
See Verified and Standard Case Contacts for more details.
