Can TrueFiling Serve my Filings?

Through TrueFiling, you can e-Serve your case filings to others associated with the case.

Note:  If you choose to e-Serve, the Court may impose an additional convenience (servicing) fee. The fee is based on the filing type.

In some courts, you can, if required, serve your filings in person or through mail service. If you choose these service methods, you are responsible for arranging service of the filing documents; TrueFiling will not perform the service.

You must specify the service recipients to whom your filing documents will be served and, in some courts, how that service will be performed.

Courts that use Case Contacts

Case contacts can be selected to receive your submitted filing documents. See Serve Case Contacts for details on specifying service recipients.

Courts that use Party Management

If the court you're filing in uses Party Management, the court determines the case participants such as case parties and counsel. The court will configure which of these participants can be selected for service. See Serve Case Participants for details.

If the court requires a Proof of Service, and you e-Serve, TrueFiling will automatically generate and deliver a Proof of Service to the court. This document will list all served parties, whether electronically, in person, or by mail. Note that any recipients added as a courtesy copy recipient will not be listed in the Proof of Service.

If allowed by the court, a single Proof of Service may be generated for all related filings submitted together.

Further, the parties of interest you specify will receive a servicing email when you submit your filing documents to the court. The email will list all parties who were e-Served, but it will not list the courtesy copy recipients.

The email message will also contain a link to download the served filing document.
